External Scholarships are awarded by employers, companies, civic organizations, high schools, religious groups, and professional associations independent of the University of South Alabama. The criteria for external opportunities differs from scholarship to scholarship, but can include academic performance, financial need, religious affiliation, minority status, heritage, community affiliations, or other unique criteria. Please be advised that the USA Office of Scholarship Services is impartial to the views and opinions of the scholarships featured. | Susan Lindahl Memorial Scholarship | The Susan Lindahl Memorial Scholarship was established in 1998. Susan, the wife of
our founding president Joe Lindahl, passed away following a battle with a brain tumor
in 1997. This scholarship fund was established in her honor recognizing the sacrifices
Susan and Joe underwent getting the PAOS off the ground and sustaining the organization
