Cloud computing has emerged as a mainstream platform for rapidly provisioning applications and information services. Clouds reduce costs, decrease the likelihood of total system loss, provide scalability on-demand, and shorten enterprise response time. Large and small organizations alike have adopted the cloud infrastructure because it levels the playing technological field and increases corporate agility.

Because of their increased importance modern hyper-connected business environments, clouds are also a prime target for attackers. The School of Computing at the University of South Alabama has channeled talent and resources towards projects aimed at securing cloud infrastructure. These projects vary in scope and focus: fine-grained investigations of hypervisor security and meta-metrics of cloud health and equally considered.
