FAQ
Q: Can I change the frequency that a saved search is emailed to me?
A: No, the default is a weekly email and that cannot be changed at this time. However
you can turn off email alerts for any search. In addition, administrators have the
ability to create curated search newsletters that can be sent at specific intervals
(e.g. monthly) so please contact us if that is something you would like to set up.
Q: Can I get admin privileges so I can create custom newsletters for my department?
A: Yes! If you have a role like dean, chair, or grant administrator and you would
like to create your own curated search newsletters, please contact us.
Q: Is there a difference between Pivot and Pivot-RP?
A: No, they are the same. The branding changed when another search service known as Research
Professional (RP) was acquired and integrated into the platform.
Q: What is the parent company of Pivot?
A: The short answer is that Pivot is owned by Clarivate, an analytics company that also
owns Web of Science. Pivot was developed by Ex Libris, which was acquired by ProQuest,
which was acquired by Clarivate. That is why you may see or remember the tool being
associated with different brands.
