Letter From Your President

Hello Jag Nation!
The Student Government Association at the University of South Alabama welcomes you! You are now officially a part of a network; a family of top-professionals, history-makers, and leaders. You are a part of the Jaguar Pack! It is time to unleash your full potential.

In SGA, our number one priority is you: the student. It is our job to continue to serve the students of our great institution by protecting core values and promoting the general welfare of all. As a university, we will continue to strive to encourage excellence in student services, healthcare, athletics, research, and global and community engagement.

The students of this university deserve a quality college experience, enriched with both service and social-based aspects. You deserve a college experience that includes inclusiveness, transparency, diversity, understanding, morality and dignity. Here at USA, we are devoted to keeping every student in mind, no matter the circumstances.

SGA plans to collaborate with several student resource departments this year. These plans include the creation of programs for Mental Health & Awareness Month to educate students on mental health issues. We also plan on working closely with campus resources to create discussions about sexual assault and rape culture on college campuses. We also plan to continue Ticket Forgiveness Day and the spring concert.

There is no Student Government without the “student”. We are here to motivate, encourage, and provide for you. Our support is more than financial. We urge you to attend our weekly meetings on Monday nights. Your ideas, thoughts, and feelings are valuable to us. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for allowing me to be in this position to serve students like you.

Remember, We Are South!
