Extra Yard for Teachers Football Game Information
The University of South Alabama is joining universities, conferences, bowl games, ESPN and education supporters across the country in an eight-day celebration dedicated to honoring and recognizing great teachers. We are celebrating Extra Yard for Teachers Week, from Monday, September 15, through Saturday, September 20, 2025.
Together, we are going big for teachers.
In partnership with the College Football Playoff Foundation, the University of South Alabama College of Education and Professional Studies and South Alabama Athletics are dedicated to showing teachers they are valued and respected.
Come celebrate with us at Hancock Whitney Stadium! Educators can purchase discounted tickets for the Jags vs. Coastal Carolina football game on Saturday, September 20, 2025, where we will honor all educators.

All educators are invited to tailgate with us on Saturday, September 20 two hours before kick off at the College of Education and Professional Studies tent! Our partners, the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) and the South Alabama Research and In-Service Center (SARIC), will also be there to celebrate with you.

South Alabama Athletics, through the Sun Belt Conference, is giving teachers the opportunity to fulfill their Amazon Wish Lists forclassroom instruction enhancement projects. We're awarding 27 teachers a total of over $6,000 to enhance their classrooms!
Here’s how to win:
- Two educators will be selected to receive $500 after the first quarter of the game.
- Twenty-five additional educators will be awarded $200 after the game.
To enter, simply attend the Jags vs. Coastal Carolina football game on Saturday, September 20. You can enter the drawing at the College of Education and Professional Studies Tailgate on Jag Row (across from Gate 1) or at the Extra Yard for Teachers table located near Gates 2 and 3.

- Gold parking is complimentary and is a 10-20 minute walk to Hancock Whitney Stadium (Entry 8 & 9 off University Boulevard).
- Blue parking can be purchased for $20 and can be purchased here (Entry 6 off University Boulevard).
- Red Parking is sold out.
- There is a paid handicap parking lot with shuttle to all gates at Red Lot 201 (Entry 2 off Stadium Drive and Old Shell Road)
- Rideshare, Lyft/Uber and Taxi drop off/pick-up at Bebo's Car Wash (6377 Old Shell Road).
